The Inner Beauty

In line with the growing economy everywhere, the human need to be recognized also grows. Something which is very humane. And the rapid growth of cosmetics and the garment industry opens the secret of how huge the money is which is allocated by people in order to be called beautiful.

Renowned psychologist Abraham Maslow wrote a long time ago, that at a certain stage of soul growth the need to be recognized will be very dominant. It is part of a long journey to heal the soul. Similar to the food we eat to making our body healthy (when eaten in moderation), the food of the soul, like other people's recognition is also similar.

There are times when one must dare to say enough. Without this kind of courage, the soul would easily collapse. Firstly, the other's recognition can easily change. One who praises today may blame another day. Secondly, using other's recognition as an important measurement will make someone grow to be someone else. Over a matter of time, one will feel alienated in their own body.

In this perspective, it is very important to awaken the inner beauty. You may listen to the other's opinions, but do not let them to dominate your life. And the most important thing is to water the seeds of inner beauty that already exists within. A series of steps that will make the soul grow much healthier in the long term.

Whether recognized or not, every human being has a unique talent that appears in childhood. Some people tend to forget these inner beautiful seeds, but serious spiritual seekers work very hard to rediscover these inner seeds, as well as deliberately watering them everyday.

A spiritual friend shared his story of his unique childhood. When he was in the first grade of primary school, he was the only child in the primary school who was still breastfed by his mother. It is not only the son who felt comfortable by being breastfed, his mother felt comfortable as well.

This childhood memory keeps appearing along the journey of the soul until old age. One day when he studied psychology which teaches that a wounded childhood comes to the surface in the form of a crying baby, and it can be cured by continuously hugging it, the last old memory appeared in a very clear way. This time it appeared as a combination of modern psychology with the ancient teaching of meditation. It was a meaningful synchronicity.

After this unique seed had been watered for decades in various ways like; reading, writing, meditating, the soul of this friend does not only grow but also glows. This is the concrete example of rediscovering and watering the inner seeds of beauty. It is far from easy of course. But it is worth trying.

Some psychologists have suggested the importance of recalling memories from the early days of childhood. There are spiritual secrets which were hidden there. It will be more beautiful if it is combined with any things that impress the soul along the way. To put it more precisely, learn to deeply listen to anything that makes your soul peaceful and beautiful.

The journey of rediscovering the natural seed of inner beauty is similar to planting coconut trees on the beach, to plant the pine trees on the hills, or planting lotus tree in a muddy pool. With a little effort and energy, the soul wings will grow and glow. It creates a feeling of being beautiful and peaceful inside. At the same time this kind of soul journey can become a source of inspiration for the soul growth of many. This is exactly what this simple article is called inner beauty.
