The Walking Candle

"The darkness that walk", that's one characteristic of restless and sleepless souls. Logic does not give them a satisfactory answer, feeling is similar. The other's suggestions appear to be full of doubt and family opinions bring a lot of fear. Close friends appear to be far from friendly, common people even worse. The result is predictable, all directions are poor of light. All steps go to the dark directions.

And referring to the prediction of WHO (World Health Organization), which predicted that by the year 2020 mental illness will be more dangerous than the physical illness, the quantity and the quality of human being who are dark inside seem to be increasing. Some people call it as a burden, some others see this as an opportunity.

On the path of light, the presence of darkness here and there is a cosmic bell that invites as many souls as possible to be the bringers of the dawn. In other words, this is an opportunity to emit the light. It is not the death bell for the bringers of light.

Learning from the story of many friends who open their secrets in meditation sessions, one clear feature of the dark souls, they have been rarely praised since childhood. On the contrary, they have been judged and insulted very often. The family and the environment which is full of judgement make them locked their inner life tightly, and make their inner space dark forever. 

For that reason, it is understandable that the humanist teacher named Dale Carnegie ever left an important message that praise is not a small matter. As long as it is done in a sincere and a gentle way, in the right quantity and quality, praise can bring beautiful light into the dark rooms of countless souls. It happened many times to many people, small touching praise can make someone happy the rest of the day.

Being inspired by this finding, learn not to be stingy in praising. Praise is not only free, but also can save a lot of dark souls. The following homework, then, how to train ourselves to be skillful in praising and respecting the others. 

To be honest, every soul is unique. While statistics try to throw uniqueness through the average approach, in human relationships uniqueness is the window from where one can share beautiful light. For that reason, learn to remember the unique and the positive characteristics of every soul you meet in daily life.

Some women like to talk something in relation with beauty. Just in the case one day you find a woman who just finished haircut, and the haircut looks attractive, it is recommended to say something like this: "Nice haircut, where did you do that?". Suppose that the lipstick color of certain woman seems to be beautiful, it is nice if you say softly the message like this: "what is the brand of your lipstick, the color is beautiful?".

While some women like beauty, some men can easily open the window of their soul when you talk about their pride. A male friend who started to grow old loved to tell his experience about travelling world wide using cruise ship. Whenever he is given the chance to speak about the last experience, he could share the stories for hours without stopping.

Through such symphatic approaches, skillful praising can transform yourself into a walking candle. Both your questions and praise can bring flashes of light into the inner dark rooms of the many. And it does not only make the lives of others bright, but also make your life full of light.
