The Window of Light

All soul travelers who are sensitive enough, understand that all people who make trouble and problems in public (over long periods of time), their souls are deeply wounded. Their anger is the way their soul wounds cry and are asking for help.

With this perspective in mind, we do not need to spread the new seeds of violence in society, we can allow the energy of compassion to bloom within. And above all, the moments when you are harmed are the golden opportunities to connect with the beautiful light within.

On the path of deep meditation in particular, whenever people hurt you, or you are visited by a bad memory from the past, quickly radiate the smiling light of mindfulness to the two objects of meditation. Firstly, emit the smiling light of mindfulness to the person who harmed you. After that, learn to emit the smiling light of mindfulness  to the soul wound within. At the same time, consider that everything simply appears and disappears, like clouds in the sky. Nothing is permanent. It is just karma that flows from one moment to the next. Identifying yourself like the clouds, like sadness and unhappiness, that is the seed of suffering. Keep witnessing the coming and the going of clouds, that's the seed of peace.

For beginners, meditation practice like this is very hard and challenging. Mainly because the energy of anger is much greater than the energy of mindfulness. As soon as someone is harmed, usually the energy of anger will take over everything, followed by rude words and other malicious actions.
But there is no other option, slowly but surely you can train yourself to enhance the energy of mindfulness inside. For beginners, it is suggested to do the meditation training in places which are far away from temptation. But for the luminous souls, the temptation is not there to shut off the inner light. On the contrary, the temptations make the light radiate even brighter.

That's why Mother Teresa chose the location of her service to be in the very poor and sad region of Calcutta India. That is also the reason why the prison did not make Nelson Mandela suffer. Instead the prison made Mandela's soul shine even brighter.

In our time, the meditation teacher who practices mindfulness at a very deep level is HH Thich Nhat Hanh. As already noted in history, the venerable Thich Nhat Hanh grew up in the middle of Vietnam war which was very scary. In our day, the spiritual master whose compassion is very touching is HH the Dalai Lama. And the venerable Dalai Lama lost his country at the age of 15 years old.

In the middle of spiritual records like this, it is easy to understand that a lot of inner seekers heard a message like this: "soul wound is the window from where the light shines in". In other words, your soul wound is not punishment. It is a golden opportunity to meet the beautiful light within.

And this may happen if a seeker does not run away from temptation, otherwise using temptation as an opportunity to brighten the smiling light of mindfulness within. The condition is similar to the flower which is being burned by the sun. As long as a seeker is sincere and honest, the harming enemies will make the inner soul bloom like beautiful flower.
