The Smile of Joy

Whenever visiting  inland areas, rural areas, there is always the presence of sincere and touching smiles. The smiles hide beautiful light, the smiles bring touching flowers, the smiles whisper deep prayers. And the spirit that makes those smiles are different when compared to the spirit in the city, it is the spirit of sincerity. A series of spiritual gems which are very rare nowadays here on earth.

To be honest, a smile is more than just a curving of the lips. A Smile is the sign of many things. A smile is a bridge of friendship which connects you with others. A smile is a beautiful hug to the soul that resides deep within. A smile is a spiritual sign that someone is no longer a victim in life, on the contrary, one begins to be a master in life.

For that reason, no matter how difficult life is, always learn to smile. At least smile at all the movements of energy inside. That is why on the path to deep meditation, deep practise of mindfulness is very important. Deep mindfulness practise is often referred to as the smiling lantern.
Whenever the energy of mind is swinging between wrong and right, bring the smiling lantern into your thoughts. During the times when the energy of your emotions are moving, swinging between sadness and happiness, bring the smiling lantern into your thoughts. If the energy of body moves, swinging between pain and gain, bring the smiling lantern into your thoughts.

That's why all the Buddha statues are characterized by lips which have a slight smile. A sort of unconditional smile. Anything and anyone can simply be hugged from the inside with the same beautiful smile. Through such a deep meditative approach, every breath functions as water that is poured into the seeds of peace that lie within.

Anyone who diligently and sincerely meditates like this, slowly but surely will be spiritual flowers which bloom beautifully in the inner garden of soul. And among all the flowers that bloom in the inner garden of soul, sincere service is the most beautiful one.

Serving customers sincerely, taking good care of children, doing your work honestly, loving the family are just some of the options that are available to us. Some spiritual friends who grow up in the corporate world often share a message like this: "sincere service which is full of smiles is an area where the business world and the spiritual world meet".

A touching soul named Rabin Dranath Tagore once wrote this beautiful message: "When I slept, I dreamed that life was joy. When I woke up, I saw that life was a service. Later I decided that service was a joy."

This is the characteristic of a luminous soul, finding joy in sincere service. Not the ordinary joy, but the joy of a beautiful flower that blooms in the inner garden of soul. Joy that comes here to share beautiful light. Joy as a cosmic smile which touches countless people.

For those souls who smile like this, in the depth of the heart often hear a message like this: "in the moment of smiling, lips just smile for a few seconds, but the warmth will remain in the heart of people for long time, the beautiful flower will bloom in the heart of people for much longer".
