The Beauty Parlor That Beautify The Soul

Many mothers who complain bitterly about their sons whom they had loved so much, but at the end they are also problematical. Some Female students at meditation classes have told me, not only that her wealth is nearly exhausted, even her health was also running out to save her son who was exposed to drugs.  From this type of perspective it seems a dangerous conclusion appears that family life is hell.

In a vivid and light spiritual language, there are four levels of soul growth. Firstly, there are group of merchants of prayer and merchants of life. Not only do they bargain with God, they will bargain with whichever person they meet. If their request is fulfilled then they see God as good, if it is not fulfilled or even further more they are confronted with family disaster, then the face of God will be seen as an angry God. And from this group perspective, trials and temptations are nothing but God's wrath on human behavior. It is not entirely wrong actually, because this is also part of the growth process.

The second group is the juvenile type of lover. The characteristic of this group is a high sense of belonging. There should not be anyone else, only he/she may be near the one’s they love. For this group, there is no other choice but always expecting their loved ones to be able to love and forgive. No room for other expressions of love other than love. Once they face another kind of love (when the children are affected by disasters such as drugs), it is easy to guess that they will began to doubt the existence of God.

The third group is the Adult type of lover. Love here is no longer followed by hatred. Love is as pure as love. It does not contrast with hatred. Moreover, different with the second group above, who see that being loved is more important than actually sharing love. So when faced with temptations, those beautiful spirits who have come to this level, will not place temptations as punishment, but as good feedback, that within ourselves there are aspects that need to be repaired. In other words, the temptation is used as a vitamin for the growth of the soul.

The fourth group are the souls who are no longer looking for anything. Not because they are angry or  frustrated. It is because they have a higher sense of sufficiency, sincerity and deep gratitude towards life, by then naturally guided to perceive that everything is perfect as it is. A healthy condition is perfect,  an unwell condition is also perfect. Isn’t it pain which makes health become so valuable? Meeting with success is perfect, when meeting with failure is also perfect. Isn’t it failure who leads us to the peak of life called knowing our true-selves?

Life is perfect, death is also perfect. Isn’t death the partner of life who opened the understanding of life much deeper? Rich is perfect, poor is also perfect. Isn't it poverty who educates us to not be arrogant and always be humble? So for the souls who have got here, there is no such thing as trials and tribulations in their dictionary. Because whatever happens in life, is given the same title: perfect !.

Back to the initial story about the dangerous conclusion that family life is a hell, everything that happens in life is seen based on the maturity level of the individuals soul. For those souls who are still in the early growth, family is seen as being full of trials. But to the one who had grown up and become luminous souls, temptation is not a sign of hell, but as a beauty parlor that beautifies the soul. Like sandpaper which is used to smoothen wood, temptation also comes to our life to smoothen the growth of our soul.
