The True Hero

The long history of a hero is a long story of victory. There was no one who was called a great warrior because they became losers on the battlefield. All heroes of the past were  praised in their time and age because of winning.

The last paradigm of hero brings a very long and deep impact on the development of human generations for thousands of years. The old myth about a hero who always wins brings a deep impact everywhere. The suicide rate which is increasing steadily everywhere, divorce rates that can not be lowered in every country, the touching stories of violence that bring the identity of religion, are all caused by many reasons. But it is hard to deny, that all of these human tragedies have a link to the old myth that a warrior must always win.

As has been clearly recorded in history, there is no man and woman who always win all the time. As the cycle of dirty waste and beautiful flowers, everything and everyone keeps flowing. The people who are right one day, can be wrong on another day. The people who are praised at a certain time can be blamed at the other time. Whether someone like it or not, that's the law of the nature.

Watching on the televisions that many public figures are very eager to win, even by the means of injuring the other's soul, it seems it will take a very long time to rewrite the myth of heroism. From someone who is imagined always winning to someone who can see the beauty of losing.

But it does not matter how long the journey will be, there must be someone who begins the journey. Especially because here and there we can see mother earth is burning. If religion and the concept of God can make people full of anger, it is simply unimaginable how burning people will be if they are very ambitious of money and power.

All spiritual friends who are clean and clear in this case will understand, there is no person who is always winning and praised. Even the most sacred holy person was blamed. The following homework then, let's train ourselves and the people around us to see the light of beauty behind losing.

As we can see clearly in family life, at work, at school, whenever crisis occurs, the destiny of a social unit is usually saved by the person who has a willingness to sacrifice. Many friends whose family burned and get divorce shared their stories, behind the collapse family that failed to be saved, it is very hard to find beautiful soul who want to sacrifice. Consequently, countless soul wounds appear later after the family break up.

Suppose there was beautiful soul who want to put the family above their ego, there are many families who could be saved, there are a lot of wounded souls who can be avoided. A psychologist friend from Jogjakarta shared his story, even after his father died a long time ago the soul wounds caused by the burning family still remain.

The same thing happened with the story of nations. The fate of democracy in the era of burning crisis is determined by the willingness of the losers to sacrifice. In the cycle of time when almost all people are burned because of the excessive desire to always win, it is expected to be born leaders who rewrite the old myth of heroism. From the hero who is imagined to be winning all the time to the hero who finds beauty and love behind the experience of being defeated. And in the depth the deep, this is the true hero.

The author of the book "History of God", Karen Armstrong, repeatedly wrote, in this age the world admired public figures such as Nelson Mandela, Mother Teresa, Mahatma Gandhi and HH Dalai Lama. They grew up in a different religion, but there are similarities among them, they find beauty and love behind the experience of being defeated.
