Transforming Anger Into A Flower

And among the amount of fire that is kept inside, the most devastating one is anger. Suppose the president of a super power country is in a state of great anger, in just a matter of minutes this planet earth can be destroyed. For that reason, it will have a huge influence on the spiritual journey later, if humans seriously transform anger into materials of peace. And one of the ways in this case is having a very deep understanding of anger. Here are some roots of anger, as well as the medicine, which are worthy to be reflected.
Levels of anger

First and the most close to the surface is anger which occurs because life grows not in line with expectations. One wants to be rich, but the reality is that they can’t be rich. One wants to have obedient children, in fact the children actually fight back. One wants a satisfying life partner, in reality the life partner is far from satisfying. If that’s the case, learn to have the courage to bring hope closer to reality. It is not easy of course. But to make life healthier and safer, there is no choice but to lower the expectations. Choosing a simpler surrounding environment, doing every day work such as sweeping, mopping, picking up trash is a number of choices. Educating yourself to know yourself deeper, especially developing a sense of inner contentment is another option.
Secondly, anger can also occur because someone learns from the environment, such as their parents and an environment that is full of anger. In this case, cognitive psychology suggests to balance the negative energy inside with more positive energy. From reading, viewing, and socializing, try to be more positive in everyday life. The most recommended path on this level is to have an inner conversation which is more positive and more constructive. In summary, learn not to put yourself as a victim or call people who hurt you enemies. Friends who spend a lot of time in solitude understand, this victim’s energy often appears borrowing various faces. From fierce parents in childhood, hostile friends during adolescence, to unsatisfactory bosses in the work place. In essence, this energy as a victim asks for attention. In the context of healing, embrace this victim energy as part of your holistic and complete self. As simple as nature embraces night and day.
Thirdly, another root of anger is the soul wound from the past. From traumatic sexual abuse in childhood, parents who died when they were young, parents who divorced, until they were deceived by a very big money deal. The recommended medicine in this case is forgiveness. To make it easier, there are two levels of forgiveness. For friends who are sensitive and easily wounded, forgiving is enough to be done deep in the heart. Realize deeply, that’s the way you pay karmic debt from the past. If you are strong enough, it’s good if you meet someone who hurts, understand the network of suffering behind the soul wounds they cause, then learn to forgive through actions without revenge and without anger. This is not an overnight job. It takes years to be able to forgive sincerely. And the biggest factor that makes forgiving very difficult is ego or small self. Once the ego can be minimized by reading, serving, spiritual connectedness, profound spiritual practice like meditation, forgiving becomes easier.
Fourthly, anger which is burning for years can happen because someone takes a way of life which is against the call of the soul. For example, since childhood a person has been given a sign to enter the spiritual world whether through dreams or by accident, but they keep growing in the material world. As a result, from year to year life is burned by anger. If this is the case, quickly do a reverse step. For people who are rarely at home, allocate more time at home with family accompanied by love. Friends who seldom pray, indulge in the world of prayer as deeply as possible. Friends who have never read spiritual books, start reading spiritual books. If you have never been interested in meeting a spiritual teacher, train yourself to meet a spiritual teacher from time to time. If you grow and spend too often in a violent crowd, enter peaceful solitude accompanied by meditation. Remind yourself with this message: “Prayer here is not to change the mind of God. Prayer is here to perfect the smile in front of God”.
Fifth, in prisons especially there are angry people who are very dangerous. Including killing a number of people. A very dangerous anger like this, there is a possibility this is because of the dangerous energy that was carried away from the previous life. Perhaps the person concerned was in his previous life a dangerous animal like a wolf, or in his previous life he was killed so that his revenge energy was very strong, the energy was still very strong carried away when the person was wearing a human body in this life. The characteristics of this type of human being, since childhood has been fighting, he finds happiness by hurting, is happy to see others injured. The most dangerous is the dark spirit who was born into a human body. Like fire, they burn without guilt at all. If someone experiences this, spiritual cleansing is a highly recommended step. For beginners, service is a very convincing step of spiritual cleansing. Especially because service makes the small self shrink and the great self enlarges. It is good if you learn yoga and meditation.
As a material of contemplation to recognize oneself, he whose anger approaches the first and second types, the frequency of the anger is not too frequent. And the damage caused by the anger is not too dangerous. As soon as these people fall, they will quickly rise again. Complete with sincerity to forgive the self. This group has a strong interest in spiritual learning. Those whose anger is close to three, four, five. The frequency of anger is almost every day. The destructive power of the anger is very dangerous. They find it very difficult to forgive others. In everyday conversation, they will feel happiness by attacking other people who are considered to be not in line. Especially those who come from dark spirits. Similar to a large cow in the middle of a glassware. They kicked here and there, and they do not know that they keep hurting the others. It’s hard to imagine that this group of five especially would be interested in spiritual learning. For your information, the dark spirits can appear using any clothes. From a very rough appearance to a very wise one.
Transforming Anger
Like ingredients in nature, all ingredients can be processed into useful nutrients. Similar to dried leaves, if placed under a tree it will become a beautiful flower some day. Cow manure if placed under a mango tree will become mangoes. The challenge then, where the dry leaves of anger should be placed so that they turn into beautiful flowers which are full of meaning. For leadership purposes (in the family or workplace), anger which is small and the intensity is controlled (first and second groups) is needed. It is like a guardian power that makes people around feel reluctant and respectful. Even better if the small anger energy inside is combined with deep wisdom. It is not impossible that it can lead to a leader who is full of charisma.
Dangerous anger, the style of groups three, four and five is indeed very challenging. The chances of recovery is smaller. But if the determination is very strong and not easy to give up, doing self-improvement, and spiritual cleansing, means the possibility of healing also exists. The legendary yogic from Tibet named Jetsun Milarepa is a beautiful example in this case. Starting a spiritual journey by carrying out mistakes which were very dangerous. Because killing a number of people through the power of black magic. After being chased by a sense of sin, he deeply cried when he firstly heard the name of his teacher Marpa. By his Master Marpa, Milarepa was thoroughly cleansed. In the end, Milarepa was not only cleansed, but also experienced amazing enlightenment. The point is simple. Holy teachings are like sunlight. Dangerous mistakes are like dried leaves. And deep devotion to the true Master, that is a magnifying glass that is placed between the two. Milarepa’s hallmark, his devotion to the true Master was amazing.
For the ordinary people who do not have such a strong and determined determination like Jetsun Milarepa, it is best to give enough nutrition to their souls. Especially the food of the mind. From association, reading and watching, to choosing a place to grow. Spiritual connectedness is another suggested step. Learn more to grow in the open, clean, clear and beautiful scenery. Build bridges of connectedness through deep gratitude. A number of studies in the West told, after growing up in the open nature accompanied by deep gratitude, stress hormones dropped dramatically. The parts of the brain that are responsible for healing (the immune system) rise is very convincing.
In the way of meditation in particular, friends are invited to see anger as rubbish which is in the process of tranformation into beautiful flowers. Angry people today will smile beautifully on another day. The wrong person at one time can be right at another time. Learn not to fight, learn to flow. At the level of perfection, spiritual seekers often share messages like this. Mosquitoes are eaten by frogs, frogs are eaten by snakes, snakes are eaten by eagles. One day when an eagle dies, the carcass will be eaten by mosquitoes. That’s how the circle of perfection revolves in this nature. Similar to sweeping the floor, in the morning it is swept and in the afternoon it is dirty again. Anyone can understand deeply the circle of perfection, then flow without resistance, sincerely sharing a smile, one day his anger will soon heal.
With anger which is completely healed, life will be far from dangerous. Instead life is rich of light. Lama Atisha is a source of light in this case. On the way from India to Indonesia, where he got a lot of light, the ship that he was aboard was attacked in the middle of the ocean. With perfect calm, Lama Atisha encountered the power of the darkness. He saw the power of darkness as a mother who had given birth to him in his previous life. Then offered, if the temptators were thirsty then Lama Atisha provided his blood to be drunk. If the temptators were hungry, Lama Atisha let his body to become their food. In the end, the tempting power prostrated respectfully to Lama Atisha. In summary, whenever such tempting forces are dangerous with their anger, the most guarding protective force is compassion. Just like what Lama Atisha did.
