The Meaningful Trails (3)

Many years ago when George W. Bush was still the president of the US, he was once visiting Bali and met with a Balinese spiritual leader at the time. In a private conversation, the president of this super powerful country asked with astonishment, “At a night when the NASA satellite orbiting the archipelago, all islands in the area were dark, except for one. The only island that emits Light was the Bali island. Fascinated with that fact, he asked: what kind of Light is that?”.
Similar to the electric light that appears as a result of the synthesis of the negatives and the positives, so does The Light. It will appears in the places where human beings “synthesize” the energy of negativity and positivity.

The Balinese elders have been prolonged in defining the human soul as “both God and Satan”, which means that there are the presence of both demon and God within the human soul. In another way of saying, Satan is not to be opposed to God, but to be synthesized.
Thus, Bali becomes one of the most rare places in the world whereby the lower realm creatures are neither feared nor hated, but given a treat.
It does not mean that the Balinese elders are worshiping the devil. Definitely not! Instead, it is the expression of a perfect love and compassion. There will be no Light without darkness. Without violence, the sense of peace will be losing its taste. Hence, it is very understandable that Bali is then becoming one of the very few places in the world where terrorism is not being fight back with an act of violence, but followed by a loving ceremony that is full of compassion. A ceremony that wished for the salvation of the world.
In this context, it is not difficult to understand that Bali is the only place in the world to celebrate the new year with a total silence (Nyepi Day).
In shorts, when everything, bad-good, dirty-holy, failure-success, brings the same Light of meanings, thus, no tongue would be long enough to be able to explain it. The one that remains is life as an ocean of smiles. The new generations need to profoundly understand that silence is not the friend of ignorance. Definitely not!
Similar to the natural nature of flower that is beautiful and the natural nature of water that is wet, the natural nature of silence always blooms in the form of a beautiful heart. It is not a coincidence that few years after the terrorist bomb exploded in Bali, an American Lady was seeking around the world for an answer. It turns out to be a very beautiful answer that she found: “Delicious food is found in Italy, beautiful prayers are heard in India. However, the most touching love is found only in the island of Bali.” This is the kind of the beautiful Light that was being asked and longing for by the former US president, George W. Bush.
