Garden of Peace

One day Nasrudin asked God softly and politely: "why did you give me a beautiful wife?". With a calm voice God answered: "That's why you choose her". My wife is not only beautiful but also peaceful my Lord, said Nasrudin. Again God replied with the same answer: "That's why you choose her". At the end of the conversation, with full of apology Nasrudin asked: "why my wife is such stupid?". This time the Lord whisper like this: "That's why she chose you."

 The spiritual message that is hidden behind this funny story is simple, there are too many people who are greedy for superiority and want to throw out all flaws. More than that, there are so many managers and householders who totally reject the flaws of their subordinates and spouses. A few minor flaws can cause major harm. As a result, souls never grow.

To be honest, to find potential subordinates or spouse is like finding seeds of flowers. No one
prohibit you to choose the healthy seeds.  But more important than just being busy of choosing, it is the sensitivity to continuously taking good care of the seeds. Mainly because the last sensitivity enables both sides grow together.

A spiritual friend who is a gardener shared an interesting story. One day he found a beautiful flower tree. But his lack of sensitivity made him to put the plant that needs little sunlight under the blazing sun. The result is predictable, this beautiful flower tree weakened and withered.

In the same way, human soul also similar. No matter how healthy a seed is, if one fails to take good care of the seed, the good seed can grow into the bad one. Once again the most important thing is not the seed but the sensitivity to continuously taking good care of the seeds.

The question then, how to develop sensitivity?. Taking good care of plants or animals is a good training in this case. If someone can understand plants or animals, then it is much easier to understand the human soul.

Much deeper than that, human being have many languages. From body language, verbal language, language of mind, language of eyes, language of face, until language of soul. A friend in the West who understands human soul convincingly concluded: "the inner quality of
 person can be judged through the questions that they raise".

This is important because when someone asked, they did not just ask for answers, but they also tell the truth about who they are. Assume that there is a strike happen in a factory. There are managers who asked arrogantly "what do you want?", few leaders asked politely "what happen?". These two questions represent two different qualities of the soul.

Just in the case you want to go deep, look at their gestures, the expression of their eyes, the kind of words that they use, voice tone, they all tell you about the inner turmoil. In the West there is a research which concluded that more than a half of the conflicts happened because of the wrong tone.

To make it simple, human soul is complicated and unique. Only a deep sensitivity that can make a person understands the human soul. Learning from the spiritual journey of samurai in Japan, every movement of life outside is the mirror of movement inside. And when every inner movement is perfectly witnessed through meditation, by then life can be transformed into a garden of peace.
