The Beauty of Simplicity

Every time we meet the collapsing souls such as people who died at young age, people who are infected by HIV virus, excessive dependence on drugs, unhealed cancer and painful stroke, there was always a long story behind about desires which is bigger than abilities.

The highly competitive environment, family who failed to become the cool umbrella and schools which are full of problems and calamities are only some of the factors that accelerating the collapsing souls. The key point is always because of the excessive desires which is far bigger than the abilities.

That is the reason why many friends whose life that are starting to be burnt by anger and conflict, they are advised to learn to manage their cravings. A deep peace, that is the attainment of spiritual friends who deeply meditate and it is more likely to be discovered when a person can maintain a delicate balance between desires and abilities.

To reach the latest equilibrium point, one of the cheap solution that is available is called simplicity. Every friend who have experienced complicated life will understand, to simplify life is far from simple. Especially because we are surrounded by a complicated environment which is driven by a very strong desire to be better.

However, there is no other option. Any spiritual seekers who want to get away from the possibility of experiencing the soul collapse, they are suggested to enter the gate of simplicity. And the first and the most important step to get there is to simplify the mind.

The clearest characteristic of mind who already entered the gate of simplicity, they always focus on the needs not the wants. While desire has no limit, there is always limit to the need. In addition, people whose minds that are very complicated love to compare themselves to the others. But spiritual seekers whose mind is simple have deep inner contentment.

As a concrete step to enter the gate of simplicity, it is worthy to contemplate to reduce the number of clutters at home. Any item that has been unused for over a year, it is suggested to be removed. It can be given to orphanages, or those who are in need.

In the moment when home is free from clutters, then it is easier to have simple mind and simple heart. Being guided by this simple mind and simple heart, then learn to reinterpret the past. No matter how bad the past is, focus on the lessons not the punishments. Always see the blessing sides of what happened in the past.

As further explanation, one of the important source of complexity is expectation. Anyone who are interested in entering the gate of simplicity, it is advised to have limited expectations on others. Quoting from a certain holy book, do your best in life, but surrender the results.

At the peak of the journey in entering the gate of simplicity, always remember the message of Mahatma Gandhi: "the world is enough to everyone's need, but the world is not enough to someone's greed". No worry, earth will be able to meet everyone's needs, but it will never be able to satisfy even someone's greed.
