Guru Devotion

One of the beautiful books of Hazrat Inayat Kanh is "Inner Life". This last book is very similar to the journey of Japanese samurai in finding perfection. In this approach, every movement of life is seen as a mirror of what is happening inside.

Snow

Whenever encountering restless souls in meditation sessions, there is always frozen mind like snow. Due to frozen mind then they collided with a lot of things in life. Do not talk about money and power, even the idea of enlightenment can make people like these collide with others.

It is an evident how frozen mind inside also meet frozen life outside. Husband, wife, family, superiors, subordinates and sometimes even God are colliding with these persons.

The result is easy to be predicted, sometimes they collide with other people, and other times they collide with themselves. This is the root of
many illnesses and soul wound. For that reason, the frozen mind need some sunlight to make it melted.

Flowing Water

In the island of love (
Bali), the sun is called Shiva Raditya. It is one names of God. Inspired by this, in order to make the frozen mind melted and then flow, they need to be close to the symbols of God. In the old time, to be closer to God human beings did a lot of ceremonies.

But in this age, asking the new generation doing ceremonies will make them run away from the symbols of God. Look at Europe and US as examples, very few of the people go to the church to do rituals.

At this point people need what Hazrat Inayat Kanh as inner life. In the approach of meditation, whatever happens in life is simply witnessed with smiles, and then allow
s everything to flow according to their own nature. Sadness is dark clouds, happiness is white clouds. Keep smiling to both, and then let them flow according to their nature. Quoting from J. Krisnamurti: "Observing without judging is the highest intelligence". This is God within.

Evaporating Water

In this kind of flowing life, peace can be easily accessed. Health and beauty arise easily in the daily life. But this is not the end of the journey, especially because the flowing water still meet rocks, mud, and other obstacles.

At this level, flowing water need further evolution. And to make water evaporating there is no other way except to be burned by the fire of life. That's why in Tantra the enlightened beings are called maha siddha. The one who has passed through many unimaginable obstacles then set themselves free.

When you put a paper under the sun, it will not be burnt. But when you put the magnifying glass between the sun and the paper, the paper is easy burned. In the deep spiritual journey, the magnifying glass that can burn spiritual obstacles is the deep practice of Guru devotion. You need a living Guru with strong karmic connection, and then devote all of your life to the Guru.
