Love Brings Peace

One day there was a rich man with four wives who were ready to die because of old age. Of course the first wife who was called was the fourth one, the youngest wife. After hearing that her husband will die, the fourth wife was suddenly gone and slamming the door.

With a deep sadness in the heart then this old man called the third wife. Once he finished talking, this woman immediately said: "forgive me, I cannot go with you". In the midst of deep sorrow, this former powerful man's then called his second wife. The second wife gave a more polite answer: "I can only accompany you until the graveyard".

Finally there was no other option to this old rich man except to call his first wife who was old, white-haired and never got enough attention. Surprisingly, when she was asked to accompany the husband on the journey of death, this wrinkled woman whispered softly: "I will accompany you anywhere you go".

This illustrative story is the story of many people in the front of death. The fourth wife which is the most attractive one in this age is money and power. You don't need to wait until you are old and sick, even when the body is still young and good shape, money and power will shake your life.

The second wife who can only accompany you until the time of death is physical body. Once a person dies, the physical body will naturally say goodbye. The third wife who will be with you until the cemetery is family and close relatives.

The question then, who is the first wife who is so loyal, she even goes with you after the time of death. She is no one else but a deep spiritual practice. That's the only thing that souls bring after the moment of death. Sadly, there are too many people in this age that died without having enough spiritual practice. As a result, the journey after death becomes a very painful journey.

In the deep spiritual world, it is widely known that one's spiritual quality is visible in the moment of death. In the experience of few high-level teachers like Jetsun Milerepa, in the moment of death nature will pay respect. Sky will pay respect in the form of beautiful rainbow, earth will pay respect in the form of small earth quake.

Ramakrishna was one of wonderful spiritual teacher. When he died at a young age, his wife Sharadadevi did not cry, she even did not go to the cremation site. When she was asked why, this gentle woman replied calmly: "Ramakrishna's physical body is dead, but his love will remain here in my heart".

Since then Sharadadevi never stop preparing breakfast, lunch, towels and daily preparation for her husband who has been cremated. Even her husband's bed which is always empty every night is still covered by mosquito nett.

Surprisingly, when Sharadadevi was ready to die because of old age, she cried and keep whispering like this: "who will prepare the food of Ramakrisna?". This is a profound spiritual practice. In the front of death she only see the light of beautiful love. As a result, soul's journey after death is full of peace.
