A friend from Jakarta asked with amazement
after reading the news that there was a certain religious leader whose presence
was refused in Bali through a demonstration: "How can such violence happen
in a land of tolerance like Bali?". Whether you like it or not, that's the
cycle of the times.
To be honest in every place and every religion
there are burning souls as well as blooming souls. The dominant feature of
burning souls is that they are shaken by the inner resistance. Any resistance
that they make outside is just a reflection of the very disturbing rejection
that has happened inside.
Intensives studies on extremist groups in many
religions and many countries show that extremists tend to be full of fear and
having deep inner resistance. Since they are deeply frightened, they suspect
others will attack them. And before people outside attack them, they take the
initiative to attack first.
The story behind the blooming souls is
different. The blossoming of the inner soul is characterized by a perfect
acceptance of life as it is. Especially because the blooming souls have
understood through achievement, it turns out that in all cycles of time there
is set back as well as progress. While the burning souls like to make a profit
from all set backs, the blooming souls see both set back and progress as they
see night and day.
The beauty of the day can be felt because human
being have passed countless nights. The beauty of peace will be deeply felt
when there is violence everywhere. For that reason, the presence of burning
souls everywhere - including in Bali - is not seen as an attacking force of
blooming soul. On the contrary, the presence of burning souls makes society
deeply miss the presence of blooming souls.
That is also the reason why blooming souls
throughout the ages say goodbye to fear, as well as being the close friend of
beauty. The combination of the disappearing fear, with the appearance of
beauty, that's the thing that makes the blooming souls grow in a peaceful and
beautiful way.
The spiritual homework then, as the natural
nature of water which is wet, the natural nature of flowers which is beautiful,
the natural nature of the blooming souls they find happiness and peace by
sharing smile and compassion.
While the beginners struggle to be good, some
even have a fear of hell, blooming souls find happiness in kindness. It is as
simple as fishes that swim in the water, as natural as birds flying in the air.
There is no fear there, there is only beauty.
A spiritual friend who spent a long time alone
in the forest for years telling stories, at the beginning there was often
visits by strange spirits that created fear. As soon as the inner resistance
disappears, the inner beauty appears, even the frightening beasts like snakes
show signs of respect.
As widely known, in Buddhism some of the
spiritual friends who use holy shirts are given the title of His holiness
(another name for noble soul), but for the blossoming souls, this is the true
noble soul. They do not become noble souls because of changing clothes, but
they become noble souls because of replacing fear with beauty. Replacing
resistance with acceptance. Transforming anger into a flower.
