The Sacred Self

There are times in life, the conscious mind complete with it's logic and feeling does not help you. Reading material does not help, life experience does not help, advice from close people are also the same. At such a moment of life someone is advised to ask the subconscious mind for guidance. Childhood dreams, memories in the first days as a small child, the feelings that often appear repeatedly over the decades and dreams are some of the options in this regard.

But once the conscious and the subconscious mind do not provide any answers, at that moment someone is suggested to encounter the sacred self. Sadly, in this day and age there are very few people who can make deep dialogues with the subconscious mind. The ones who can discuss with the sacred self even less. The end result is predictable, here and there we can see the restless and sleepless souls.

As we can see in the meditation sessions, many people try to find deeper answers only when their lives are visited by deep difficulties. From troubling children, family which is full of disaster, until being treated like garbage by the boss in the office. In short, difficulty and suffering are the important key to opening the sacred and the holy self.

The first step which is suggested in this case, is to throw away any doubts. The past may be full of darkness, the parents may created a lot of trouble, but learn to get out from the jail of doubt. Surrounding yourself with a supportive environment is the first step. Seeing the beautiful sides of your life is the next step. Most importantly, learn to awaken the energy of faith. As it is often shared, faith is a love affair with the mystery.

After the doubt can be minimized, learn to reduce any kind of inner drama. Guilt from the past, the wounded soul, a small self that asks for pity are parts of the energy inside which love to create inner dramas. The more one involve in this kind of inner dramas, the farther seekers away from the sacred self.

The soul journey will be much deeper when one can minimize the power of ego and selfishness. Service is one way. Doing lowly tasks like sweeping and mopping is another way. Whenever there is a night time which is full of stars, learn to deeply contemplate. Humans beings are only small creatures on a small planet.

Once the three steps above have been done with confidence, there is an apportunity that some one to meet the sacred self. In the language of meditation, the sacred self is called a compassionate witness. Similar to the sky that keeps witnessing the coming and the going clouds, not much different with someone who is standing on the bank of a river watching the flowing water, the sacred self keeps witnessing the flow of life with the same distance.

Life may grow from failure to success, people may scold or praise, day may change into night, they are all being witnessed and hug with the same smile. While the intelligent people cooperate closely with the mind, the sensitive human beings are close to emotion, a compassionate witness is very close to a friendly smile.

Not the ordinary smile, but the smile that leads one to a deep understanding, what the mind is called false and true, what is called by emotion as sorrow and joy are like waves on the surface of the ocean. And all the waves are ended humbly on the same beach of peace.

Anyone who has arrived here will deeply understand, the best answer is always hidden behind the question. The most symphatic friend in the journey of soul is called silence. Just as beautiful flowers are the close friends of beautiful butterflies, from the beginning-less beginning silence is  the close friend of a beautiful heart (by which read: helping is the best option. If you can not help at least do not harm).
