In some parts
of the world, where people have not been touched by economic development and
excessive consumerism too much, their smile appears to be very different. The
aura is different, the light is different, the charisma is different too. It is
like sharing a beautiful spiritual message, there is a soul secret which is
hidden behind the smile.
In the past
times, stories about a smile that heals the soul, or a smile which allows soul
wings to appear only in the spiritual world. But in line with the advancement
of science and technology, this region of smile has also entered the world of
research. One of the prominent figures in this case is Professor Kazuo Murakami
of Japan. The last Professor of biotechnology who spent decades researching
genes in the laboratory, in his book "Switch" explicitly concluded:
"Among the switches inside, smile is the strongest switches that can
change one's genes and life."
Paula M.
Reeves, Ph.D. in her beautiful work entitled "Heart Sense: Unlocking your
highest purpose and deepest desire" writes on page 3, the human body
radiates electromagnetic energy. To reflect deeply, the electromagnetic energy
of the heart is five thousand times stronger than the electromagnetic energy of
the brain. The spiritual message then, anyone who wants to heal the soul or
wants to attain enlightenment, the heart can help five thousand times more than
the brain. And to be frank, a smile is the language of the heart.
One of the
bright souls ever born in our day is Zig Ziglar. The last author and public
speaker even gave the title of one of his books: "Something To Smile
About". The contents of this book are filled with spiritual and
psychological ingredients that make your heart full of smiles. Of course the
reason behind all of this is because Zig Ziglar deeply understands that a smile
heals and make the soul whole as well.
In the West,
there was an interesting story like this. One day there was an old man who had
a very complicated disease that made the doctors give up. When the certain
disease was treated, it made the other diseases worse. If the the doctor
conducted surgery on the first disease, it created trouble to the other
diseases.Since he was unable to find the light of healing in the medical
world, he then decided to rent a small hotel room for three months. And
spending the whole time simply watching funny movies that made him laugh and
smile. After three months, this old man had recovered.
To make the
story short and precise, there is light hidden behind the smile. The spiritual
seekers who seek healing, they can find healing energy in a smile. Spiritual
friends who seek peace can find peace in a smile. In the time when someone's
smile is deep enough, they can even open the gate of perfection behind the
smile. As it is often shared, perfection is not the absence of imperfections,
but the ability to smile to all imperfections.
And the
journey to get there is not simple. It is far from easy. Although the physical
distance between the head and the heart
only a few centimeters, but it takes a long time and great effort to get there.
Let's deeply understand what Paula M. Reeves, Ph.D. wrote on page 125:
"Heart lives in a spiritual realm where ego knows nothing". A deep
smile as a beautiful sign of blossoming heart can only be found where ego and
selfishness have no land to grow.
For that
reason, in order to make the soul heal and to be whole, let's learn to grow in
spiritual lands where there is no ego and selfishness. To put it simply, learn
to surround yourself with friends who see the light of kindness in your heart.
Train yourself to serve as many beings as possible.
It would be
far more beautiful if you can work in the areas of service that makes the soul
bloom beautifully. To put it more concrete, always see all beings as suffering
souls who need your help. Feel the complicated network behind their anger and
violence. From the wounded childhood, wretched parents, until the fully
troubled schools.
Once their
network of suffering is opened, then beautifully share the energy of
compassion. At least do not create any harm, see them with the eyes which are
full of acceptance. In short, always keep in the heart that they do not need
your anger and revenge. Always think about the kindness they once did. If there
is time to pray, pray for them to be happy. Above all, remember to hug the
everyday experiences with a beautiful smile. The rest, do not be surprised if
life brings you the unexpected miracles.
