"The souls who are full of holes wants to heal other
souls who are full of holes,” that’s how some Western writers describe their
government in their country. Endless corruptions, politicians who never stop
quarrelling, poor services are all signs that their souls are full holes. The
mass population who always protest, never feel satisfied, some even taking part
in dangerous violence is also signs of soul holes.
As a result, there is a frightening level of violence
everywhere. People talk about violence in developing countries, but even in
countries where the system has advanced (and is mature) such as United States,
there are touching incidents like Orlando (June 2016). In a very short time,
the innocent people who committed no mistakes were shot dead in a public area.
The disturbing stories of soul holes do not only mark the
public spaces, they are also present within the private areas which are very
personal. One of the dominant signs are restless and sleepless souls here and
there. To make it short, there is always the feeling of being incomplete inside
that needs to be covered.
This is the reason why the hard and stubborn man tends to be
interested in the women who are considered to be soft. That is also the reason
why a lot of women who like to talk then fall in love to men who tend to be
quiet. The essence is the same, there are soul holes within, which want to be
covered.
From this story of soul holes came the idea of the soul
mate. Deep inside the soul there is the feeling of being incomplete, then
people are very busy looking for the lost parts of the soul in the others.
Sadly, the rapid increase in divorce rates clearly illustrates the secret that
the other person cannot totally cover the feeling of being incomplete inside.
Each friend who has been married to the same partner more
than a quarter of a century knows, even though we have spent such a long time
together, there remains differences between the two people. And we can never
make the two people totally the same. Suppose there is a super rich man who
gets married up to a thousand times with a thousand different partners, there's
always something missing inside.
When it is traced back to history, the idea of a soul mate
firstly appeared in Ancient Greece. Initially the human soul is complete and
whole, but a mythology mentioned that there is a super natural power that
divides the human psyche. That's the beginning of the feelings of being
incomplete inside.
All friends who are mature on the path of meditation
understand, those feelings of being incomplete, are deeply rooted in the
untrained mind. The characteristic of the untrained mind is simple, they love
the peak of mountain (by which read: advantages) but they do not want any
valley of shortages, they like the beautiful flowers of being praised but they
are not happy with the dried flowers of being blamed. As we all know, behind
the peak of mountain there is always a valley, as a matter of time all the
beautiful flowers will wither.
Whether you are enlightened or unenlightened, the nature of
the mind will remain like this. That is why at the level of perfection
meditation keep guiding disciples to take a perfect rest. Learn to perfectly
rest from the excessive desire simply wanting the top mountain of advantages,
learn to perfectly rest from the desire to meet only the beautiful flower of
praise. At the same time learn to always hug the wholeness of each present
moment.
As soon as someone enters the gate of wholeness, they
experience the feeling of being incomplete inside being replaced by the feeling
of deep inner contentment. Once the inner seekers arrive here, it does not mean
that they are going to divorce, or saying goodbye to family life. But as the
natural nature of water which is wet, the natural nature of a flower which is
beautiful, the natural nature of souls who live in the home of wholeness is
full of compassion. Strangely, once the soul enters the gate of wholeness, the
heart is full of compassion, our spouse will naturally bloom into a beautiful
soul mate.
