Home of Healing

"Searching for a place where there is no sorrow and suffering", that's the life theme of many spiritual seekers. That's also the strong reason why tourism industry continuously grow, without any sign of declining. Some people even have to sell their property to be able to go to the very far country to find this kind of place.

And as has been experienced by many seekers, everyone should be disappointed in the end. The idea of finding place where there is no suffering, it is not only naive, it is also an important obstacle to spiritual growth. Mainly because without sorrow and suffering, deep love and deep compassion will never arise.

Similar to the pond which is full of lotus trees. Without the dirty mud, without the hot sun shine the lotus flower will never bloom. In the same way, without sorrow and suffering any soul will never grow and glow.

In this point of view, sorrow and suffering are not discarded, but being transformed into the mud where the soul flowers will grow. Running away from sorrow and suffering is similar to lotus flowers which go away from the mud.

As has been shared to thousands of parents to the children with special needs, sorrow and suffering are not punishment, it is a well-fertile fields where beautiful souls can grow healthily. Getting away from sorrow and suffering is similar to someone who is pierced by the arrow, and then add another arrow at the same place.

Having children with special needs is certainly painful. But complaining excessively, suspecting that anyone has sent you black magic, it is like the second arrow that you pierce to the same soul wound.

For that reason, students of meditation are asked to focus the whole energy to be their own healers. Healing energy is abundantly available within. And this healing energy begin to be accessed when someone learn to accept sorrow and suffering as the requirement of soul growth.

In the deep spiritual journey, seekers are not only welcome suffering, but also to treat suffering as a mother who will give birth to the beautiful babies of love and compassion. Probably this is the reason why Mother Teresa enjoyed her decades of life in the midst of suffering in Calcutta.

Repeating the previous message, only in the mud of suffering then the lotus flower of love and compassion blossom. To make it concrete, stop looking for a place where there is no sorrow and suffering, then learn to grow in the the mud-sludge of suffering. Finally, let the lotus flower of love and compassion bloom beautifully within.

As further details, transform every form of suffering as opportunity to perfect love and compassion. It is similar to what is done by the bud in the front of hot sunlight. The sunlight is extremely hot during the day, but that's the time when flowers bloom beautifully. With this approach in mind,  any soul can be transformed into home of healing.
