“Every time I see and hear something, why do the more negative thoughts like fear appear first?”, that’s the question of many friends in meditation sessions. To be honest, the question does not only open a secret that someone is missing the answers. The question also opens the secret of the subconscious mind. Very few of the people who are aware that similar to mud which invites the coming of worms, is the subconscious mind which is full of fear will invite the coming of suffering. Like it or not, that is the cycle of times. Human beings keep inviting more suffering through fear.
There are several possibilities that are hidden behind the strong influence of fear. First of all, there is a self-protective mechanism in the brain. Negative thoughts complete with fear and suspicion, are one of the ways of the brain to protect the human body. Secondly, since ancient times life on earth has been indeed full of challenges. The collective memory of that heavy life remains in the human brain. Thirdly, it is difficult to deny that trust among human beings has greatly decreased. In some parts of the world such as Russia, parents have brainwashed children with messages like this: “Don’t trust anyone. Learn only to believe in yourself “.
Sadly, the fearful way of life contributes to creating a sad life later. “Changing frequency is changing reality”, that’s the findings in the field of spiritual energy. When humans change the frequency within themselves, the surrounding reality also changes. A retired friend shared a story. Initially living in the village was thought to be full of peace. Apparently, it is not always like that. In front of the house there are young people who keep fighting every night because they are drunk. Towards the afternoon break, not infrequently there are noisy people because of cockfight gambling. Not to mention the sound of the sound system from all directions, skyrocketing on holidays. This friend left the noisy city with the intention of avoiding the noise, he even met more noise in the village.
Elegant approach of change
Learning from a Zen teacher who chose to grow in a slum in New York city, which contained many young people who were drunk, fighting everyday, some even killed each others using pistols, this friend then applied the science of “changing frequency, changing the reality to the surroundings”. First of all, what is changed is of course the mind. City people are city people. Villagers are villagers. Like frangipani trees which grow in dry soil, lotus flowers grow in wet mud. Both are different. And both are happy as they are. With this framework in mind, young people who fight and villagers who gamble are not compared to the measurement of more polite city people. Villagers are villagers. City people are city people.
After changing the mind, this friend changed expectations. Not expecting the others to understand him. Instead, he trained himself to always understand the others. Most villagers don’t have university degrees, they never live outside of their village. At the same time, they treat themselves like city people who are watching television, using cellphones and the internet. An old person in the village complained heavily like this: “In the old days, it was only the sun which was hot. Nowadays, even the moon is hot too”. That is, every month the pocket is hot because they must pay electricity, water, telephone credit, and other city living expenses. While their source of income is in the village. Which of course is not enough to follow the city’s more expensive lifestyle.
Based on this map of understanding, the above gentleman then learns to grow without hope. Not without hope that leads to suicide, but seeing the environment as it is. Without the framework of good or bad. Just like the eyes of innocent children. Thirdly, after changing the minds and adjusting the expectations, this man who begins to age, learns to merge with every moment. In the language of meditation: “The present moment is a wonderful moment”. Whatever the blessing of the present moment, he simply smiles. From just waking up early in the morning, sweeping, watering the plants, sitting in meditation, until sleeping again at night, all accompanied by a beautiful smile.
Quoting old messages in the world of meditation, the past has passed, the future has yet to come, the only present is the present. Those who are at one perfectly with the present, the body is still growing in a historical time that knows three times (past, present, future). But the soul has become one with the ultimate time which knows only the now. In an easy and clear language, goals are only needed by those who are far from home. But the goal is no longer needed by the soul who has returned back home.
For the ordinary people, this type of person is thought to be very passive and tends to be apathetic. But for deep souls, this is how to change the surrounding reality. As soon as someone has bloomed into beautiful flowers, then the fly will not be interested to get closer. When a person is completely peaceful inside, the super-chaotic environment outside naturally goes away. This is also experienced by the above friend who had retired for seven years and then lived in the village. Without reporting to the police, without complaining to the neighbors, the young people who fought every night disappeared, people who gambled went away, all other sound systems did like fireworks disappear.
At the same time this is the most elegant approach of change in this age. The environment changes not because of being changed. The environment changes because someone is vibrating in a such peaceful way. On the roof of earth called Tibet there was a legendary story like this. One day a giant came to eat sheep. Strangely, the sheep cannot be eaten by the giant. When asked, the local community told the giant, that their king deeply meditates everyday, entering the deep state of peace.
In the eighth century, at the Nalanda University of India there was once born an amazing spiritual teacher named Acharya Shantidewa. When he explained emptiness (wisdom), his voice was clearly heard in people’s ears. But his body disappeared somewhere. This can happen because he vibrates at a level of beauty that is much higher than the level of ordinary people. To be honest, this is why this article is called the lost intelligence. In the midst of the swift influence of western education, which is very busy choosing good above bad, hassle to throw sadness and deep hunger for happiness, human beings are not only exhausted, but also full of fear. Through this type of old intelligence, people are only suggested to be a compassionate witnesses. To put it precisely, learn to have deep rest in beauty. Strangely, the environment changes not because it is changed. The environment changes because someone vibrates in such a peaceful way.
