In the golden age, a few holy souls are having the privilege to have a direct conversation with God. However, in the current dark age, the one who claim to have the ability to talk to God, must be prepared to be suspected as having a mental disorder. Thus, it is very understandable when a philosopher once wrote: “The truth is similar to a broken mirror. The most important task of human is to re-assemble those broken pieces”. In this context, a PhD in physics from the University of Vienna named Fritjof Capra deserved an appreciation.
Most importantly because he spent most of his time reconstructing the “fragments” of that broken mirror. In his masterpiece named The Tao of Physics, the experienced researcher who had been researching on the high-level of energy in many universities both in the Europe and US, is exploring the parallels between modern physics and Eastern mysticism.
The most heartwarming part is when Dr. Capra named the first chapter of his bestseller book with the following title: “Modern Physics – A Path with a Heart”. Physics is not only enriching the mind, but also the heart. Physics is not only leading human beings to the truth, but also guiding the soul towards beauty. Physics might be endangering one’s life, yet might also enlighten the soul. Thus, in a certain part of this very beautiful book, the physicist left a note that physics may lead human beings to one directions of these 2 B: “bomb or Buddha”. In the case when people learn physics using only the mind, moreover a narrow minded yet sneaky mind, physics will be delivering a massively destructive bomb. On the other hand, when people learn physics using a beautiful heart, it will lead them to meet the most luminous Buddha (read: enlightenment).
Those whose exalting their own opinion and denigrating the argument of others could never be called as a luminous soul. Although Dr. Capra is very much aloof with Newton’s mechanistic physics while in the same time also very keen on the holistic of Eastern philosophy, at the end of his book, the mechanistic physics theory is not being dismissed. Instead, he recommends a “dynamic interplay” between both. Not choosing one over another, but rather moving dynamically in between the two. It perfectly match with the approach of meditation that emphasizing on the choiceless awareness, where one is simply witnessing every movement of the energy within, without choosing. Hence, enable one to make a sharp and clean decision once needed. The remaining spiritual legacy that left is to train the self to be flexible with the concept of truth. Shall the path of truth rules you to create a massively destructive bomb, for even the rule comes from God himself, do not obey. Remember the message wrote by Dr. Capra in the beginning: Modern Physics – A Path with a Heart. Physics is not being intended as a cause to create a destructive bomb. Instead, it is intended as a way for the souls to meet God (enlightenment). In summary, both science and technology in general, and physics in particular, are never intended to endanger the journey of the soul, but to lead it to enlightenment.
