The Meaningful Trails (17)

There are only very few soul healers whose soul has been fully healed, whom then feel moved to help others heal. One of that very few is Kari Joys. Being her friend on Twitter for years, being hand-in-hand in helping many people on the Twitterverse, I could deeply feel the spirit of compassion that sparks behind all the services Kari Joys provides. The same spirit of compassion is also present in the beautiful book wrote by this grandmother of 7 grandchildren, which titled: “Choosing Light Heartedness: A 33 day journey to overcome anxiety, depression and dysfunctional family issues”. Notice on how this experienced psychologist begins her book: “Regardless of the painful feeling you earned from others, nor the painful feeling you have caused to others, it is never too late to change. There is always a chance to transform yourself into becoming a beautiful soul”. A spirit of embracement that desperately needed by so many anxious and restless souls. As clearly seen here and there, the feeling of being rejected is the main cause behind the great number of anxious and restless souls. Not only the community and the family that reject their existence, even that relevant person is also denying himself. Consequently, the list of anxious and restless souls is keep expanding.

Kari Joys could be considered as a representation of the generation of healers who strongly believe that the combination of psychology and the deep practice of spirituality might unleash the great potential power of healing. And the most crucial starting point in this regard is self-acceptance. Therefore, at the beginning of Kari Joys’ book, people are being asked to write down all the feelings that arise. Whether it is rude or even wrathful, simply write it down. There is no need to think about giving it any polite or proper titles, just keep on writing. Particularly since no one but yourself will be reading that notes. As a reflection, feeling is a kind of energy, thus, it requires a media of expressions. When being well expressed in such a healthy way, the energy will then be returning back to you in the form of love. Whenever you then sense a feeling of stillness within, it is about time to start re-reading your writings. Still, you would have to, beforehand, free yourself from feeling full of sins and guilts, and instead, consider yourself as an empathetic healer while reading those writings. Feel the pain behind your own writings. Deeply explore the complicated complexity of suffering behind each of your pain. At the peak of everything, go to the mirror, then gently gaze at the eyes of the person you met in the mirror while whispering this message: “I love you just the way you are” (I accept you as you are).
Each friend who has passed thru this stage of healing understands, when a person can accept himself just the way he is (full and whole), there he starts planting the seeds of compassion within. Whilst being provided with an environment that continuously supports, being fostered with water and fertilizers of jokes, love, prayer, meditation, yoga, it is only a matter of time that he will then be blossoming beautifully in the form of compassion towards other beings. At once, one suddenly finds a great joy in serving others. Find peace by alleviating the burden of others. Not only the immediate family like spouse and children, for even an outsider would also feel the calmness in the soul of that person. Thus, nearly at the end of the book (page 130), Kari Joys advised: “The last step in living your spirituality is doing service…like Mother Teresa did”. When someone is offering his life entirely for the sake of others, there is a beautiful flower of joy that blooms within. It is at this stage that below prayers could make the tears start streaming down. Not because the soul is injured, but as the soul is starting to see a window of Light that opens widely…
Light….
Wherever there are soul wounds…
Let me bring the remedy thereto…
Light…
Wherever there is darkness…
Let me bring a lantern thereto…
Light…
Wherever there are tears…
Let me bring the Water (Tirtha) thereto…
