"While joy makes the soul enjoy the music, sorrow makes the soul
deeply understand the lyrics"
Almost everyone runs away from sadness. Restaurants, bars, entertainment
venues are some places where people like to escape to. And no matter how hard
someone tries to escape from sadness, sadness will come again and again. Let
alone when there is no prophet on earth, even when the prophet was present here
on earth, grief is here to be the guest of life.
That is the reason why luminous souls learn not to run away from sadness. A
great poet Kahlil Gibran is a legendary example of this. His masterpiece titled
"The Prophet" was written when Gibran experienced a deep sadness.
Mahatma Gandhi left a brilliant career as a successful lawyer in South Africa
and went back home to India, he was also being guided by the deep feeling of
grief.
In the middle of guiding history like this, a Buddhist friend also deeply
saddened when the Buddhist monasteries were destroyed in certain part of
Indonesia. More specifically because one of the Buddhist temples which was
destroyed was Avalokitesvara Buddhist temple . A Buddha name which he kept
repeating every day for many years in the realm of prayer.
But it is not the characteristic luminous souls to use sadness as a
seed of violence. On the contrary, the last deep feeling of sadness is allowed
to guide the soul to grow deeper and deeper inside. No need to blame the
destroyers, no need to blame the government, no need to blame the inner self,
simply keep smiling to the inner disturbing grief.
There is the feeling of helplessness, doubt, sincerity, honesty, darkness,
light, love, stupidity, ignorance, anger, forgiveness, and much more. Whatever
the faces of grief that comes and goes, all need to be beautifully hugged using
the same smile. It is like a loving mother who hugs her only son.
Initially there was fighting inside. Slowly but surely it opens a spiritual
secret, it is the ego which keeps fighting inside. After deeply shining the
light of mindfulness on ego, slowly the selfish ego disappears. Ego then was
replaced by the pictures of destroyers as the suffering souls who need deep
help. Those people who destroy the Buddhist temple are beautiful angels who are
here to purify the negative karma, and perfecting the quality of patience as
well.
In the deeper layers of soul there is a window of understanding opening.
The power of darkness is not totally bad. Simply because of the kindness of
darkness, then soul seekers can enjoy the beautiful light. Being guided by the
last light of understanding, it is not only the energy of anger getting
smaller, but the beautiful light within which also gets increasingly brighter.
This spiritual journey does not stop here, the journey grows further. The
light inside does not only dispel the inner darkness, but also brings touching
music. It is too complicated to explain the beauty of music by means of words.
However there are very thrilling lyrics that sounded there.
Like a pair of birds wings, that's the sound of the lyric, every creature
appears in pairs. Where there is joy, there is sorrow. Where there is
advantage, there is shortage. Where there is praise, there is blame. Where
there is pleasure, there is pain. Where there is light, there is darkness.
Suffering occurs because people just want the wing of pleasure only and
neglect the other wing of pain. Enlightenment happens because spiritual seekers
dare to use both pleasure and pain as a pair of soul wings that lifts the soul
journey. In the time when the soul flies back home, inner seekers will say a
deep thank you to deep sadness.
"Simply because of the kindness of darkness, we can see the beautiful
light"
